While Hostinger’s hosting services are offered to everyone, from IT novices and beginners to developers and professionals, DigitalOcean concentrates on developer-friendly solutions. Their cloud hosting plans may appear identical, but they are not. I examined both providers based on their features, performance, cost, security, and support. In this Hostinger vs. DigitalOcean comparison, I believe Hostinger comes out somewhat ahead.

1. Plans & Pricing
Hostinger provides better value for money for beginners.
Hostinger offers shared and WordPress hosting, as well as email hosting, managed cloud hosting, and VPS services.
DigitalOcean offers cloud VMs (virtual computers) known as Droplets. DigitalOcean’s Standard Droplets are priced at a lower monthly fee than Hostinger’s cloud hosting services. You may even choose hourly billing with DigitalOcean.
When you choose a 48-month term, Hostinger provides the most reasonable cloud plan pricing. While the monthly prices are higher, the lowest plan cost is roughly six times that of DigitalOcean’s base plan.
Renewal prices are also increasing more rapidly (up to two times). However, if you need beginner-friendly features, Hostinger offers better value for your money.

Hostinger offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. DigitalOcean provides no refunds.
Though Hostinger requires a long-term commitment to get the lowest rates, it surpasses DigitalOcean due to its user-friendly features and superior value for money.
2. Features.
Hostinger has an advantage because of its more diversified plan options and user-friendly features.
Hostinger’s fully managed cloud hosting plans provide 200GB to 300GB of SSD storage, 3GB-16GB of RAM, 2-8 CPU cores, and limitless bandwidth. Other features include CloudLinux with LVE containers, Cloudflare CDN integration, cache manager, daily backups, 1X-4X speed boost, 1-click auto-installer, and a variety of freebies such as a domain name (for the first year), dedicated IP address, and SSL certificate.
DigitalOcean hosting with Standard Droplets has 25GB-3.75TB SSD storage, 1TB-12TB transfer, 1-32 vCPUs, and 1GB-192GB memory.
DigitalOcean’s virtual machines (VMs) include floating IP addresses, cloud firewalls, load balancers, API, CLI, and client libraries, multiple pre-installed software (Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.), isolated networks, 100+ pre-configured 1-click apps (Docker, WordPress, LAMP, Plesk, etc.), a Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate (paid), and automated weekly backups (paid), as well as snapshots to backup your hosting environment.

Despite strong competition, Hostinger wins because of its expanded selection of hosting plans and user-friendly features.
3. Performance.
Hostinger leads DigitalOcean with its credit-backed uptime guarantee and improved performance.
Hostinger’s data centers are spread across seven distinct regions, whereas DigitalOcean has twelve global data centers. However, not all locations support DigitalOcean’s Droplet plans.
Hostinger uses a variety of tools and technologies to improve speed. These include LSCache plugins, SSDs, RAID-10, an optional Cloudflare CDN, Smart Purge technology for easier cache management, an integrated cache manager, HTTP/2, and GZIP compression.
DigitalOcean employs SSDs, CDN, Block Storage (to provide additional storage capacity that may be enlarged without shutting down the Droplet to which they are linked), load balancers, and RAID.
Hostinger provides a credit-backed 99.9% uptime guarantee. It outperformed in our performance tests. DigitalOcean Droplets and Block Storage have a 99.99% uptime SLA. As long as it remained operational, DigitalOcean worked wonderfully.
4. Security.
It’s a tie.
Hostinger’s strong security measures include an SSL certificate, a CDN, data redundancy with RAID-10, daily backups, LVE containers (for account isolation), Wanguard anti-DDoS protection, the use of advanced security modules on servers (such as Suhosin PHP hardening, Apache mod_security, and so on), predictive server monitoring, and Bitninja/Imunify360 (WAF).
DigitalOcean also employs many security measures, including service audits, firewalls, SSH keys, VPC (Virtual Private Cloud) networks, regular backups, ECC (Error Correction Code) RAM, and unattended updates.
Both providers have comparable security features, making it difficult to identify a clear winner.
5. Support.
A competent customer service desk helps Hostinger beat its competitors.
Hostinger provides 24-hour email, live chat, and ticket assistance (for logged-in users). If waiting periods (no matter how tiny) upset you, you can even pay for “Priority Support,” which puts you first in line anytime you need help.
I received quick responses when I used Hostinger’s live chat. Hostinger provides lessons, a blog, and a comprehensive knowledge base for self-help.
Although DigitalOcean provides ticket help, submitting a ticket can be difficult (as I discovered). DigitalOcean maintains an online community for self-support, as well as documentation, tools, articles, and tutorials.
Hostinger leads DigitalOcean due to its excellent assistance and experienced staff.
Hostinger Beats DigitalOcean to Win
Except for security, where both providers are neck-and-neck, Hostinger outperforms DigitalOcean in every other category, including features, pricing, performance, and support.
As a result, I recommend Hostinger if you want to receive the most value for your money while still satisfying your hosting needs. If you’re still unsure, knowing it’s on our list of best web hosting providers may help.
